Air freight is charged per kg on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, and is quoted per shipment. Rates are indicative and confirmed per booking.
How to work out your CBM
CBM = length × width × height (in metres) × number of cartons.
A 60 × 40 × 50 cm carton is 0.6 × 0.4 × 0.5 = 0.12 CBM. Twenty of them is 2.4 CBM. Measure the outer carton the supplier ships, not the product — packaging is what occupies the container.
At IDR 7,000,000/CBM for general cargo, that 2.4 CBM shipment lands at roughly IDR 16,800,000 all-in to our warehouse.
Where the extra cost usually hides
- Domestic freight inside China.Getting goods from your supplier to our Guangzhou warehouse is the supplier’s or your cost, not ours.
- The last mile in Indonesia. Warehouse to your address is a separate quote and depends on destination and volume.
- Volumetric weight on air freight. Light bulky cargo is charged on volume, not on the scale. Check both before choosing air.
- Wrong category declared. Booking general cargo and shipping garments gets re-rated at the correct category. Declare accurately at booking.

How much does it cost to ship from China to Indonesia?
Sea freight is quoted per CBM and runs from IDR 5,750,000 to IDR 12,250,000 per CBM depending on the cargo category. That is an all-in figure: ocean freight, consolidation, customs clearance, import duty, VAT, and import income tax, delivered to our Indonesian warehouse. Domestic delivery from that warehouse to your address is quoted separately.
How is CBM calculated?
CBM is length × width × height in metres, per carton, multiplied by the number of cartons. A 60 × 40 × 50 cm carton is 0.6 × 0.4 × 0.5 = 0.12 CBM. Always measure the outer carton after the supplier packs it, not the product.
Is there a minimum shipment size?
Sea LCL starts at 0.1 CBM, with a minimum charge applied below a certain volume. Small parcels are usually cheaper by air or through our jastip service than by paying an LCL minimum.
Why do garments and textiles cost more per CBM?
Because the import regime is heavier, not because the freight is. Textiles and garments sit under stricter import rules and attract higher duty and tax treatment, and they require a commercial invoice and packing list plus sack packing. The all-in rate carries that cost.
What is not included in the rate?
Domestic delivery from our Indonesian warehouse to your address, cargo insurance (available on request, covering total loss), and any supplier-side charges in China such as domestic Chinese freight to our Guangzhou warehouse.
When do I pay?
After the goods arrive in Indonesia. You are not asked to settle freight at booking.
