Shipping construction materials from China to Bali is only part of the budget when your project is on Lembongan, Ceningan, Lombok or the Gili islands. The final domestic leg needs its own transport plan, handling arrangements and written price. A quote ending in Denpasar does not automatically include delivery to an island construction site.
Chindo Cargo's starting indication for each project-scale island route below is IDR 150,000,000, depending on the goods and delivery scope. A recent Chindo Cargo project involving goods shipped by both FCL and LCL incurred IDR 260,000,000 for the combined domestic delivery from Denpasar to Lembongan alone. That experience is why we budget the island leg before the next shipment is booked.
This guide is for villa developers, contractors, hospitality procurement teams and padel project owners moving substantial consignments. These are project cargo budget indications, not prices for individual parcels.
Project-scale island delivery: starting prices
| Domestic route | Starting indication | What determines the final quote |
|---|---|---|
| Bali to Lembongan | IDR 150,000,000 | Cargo list, packed dimensions, weight, transfer and site access |
| Bali to Ceningan | IDR 150,000,000 | Receiving location, suitable transfer arrangements and handling |
| Bali to Lombok | IDR 150,000,000 | Shipment size, equipment, crossing and final delivery scope |
| Lombok to the Gili islands | IDR 150,000,000 | Exact island, unloading access, cargo characteristics and onward handling |
Each amount is a starting indication for the named domestic project route, not a fixed all-inclusive tariff. It is not a China-to-destination total, a price per container, a rate per cubic metre or a rate per tonne. A Bali-to-Gili itinerary needs the complete route assessed; do not treat the Lombok-to-Gili indication as covering collection in Bali.
Confirm the collection address, exact destination, quantities and unloading responsibilities before relying on a price. Goods purchase, international freight, import duties and taxes, insurance, storage, special equipment and installation are not automatically included. The written quotation must identify what is included and what is priced separately.
Case study: IDR 260 million from Denpasar to Lembongan
For one recent Chindo Cargo project, the aggregate goods arrived through a combination of FCL and LCL shipments. The combined Denpasar-to-Lembongan domestic delivery cost was IDR 260,000,000.
| Case detail | What the figure means |
|---|---|
| Transport segment | Denpasar to Lembongan |
| Cargo context | Aggregate project goods associated with FCL and LCL shipments |
| Domestic delivery cost | IDR 260,000,000 for those goods combined |
| Outside this figure | Goods purchase, international freight, import duties and taxes, and the wider project budget |
This is one project's actual domestic delivery experience, not a promise that another consignment will cost the same. We do not present a container count, shipment volume or cost breakdown because those details are not part of this published case. The useful lesson is the scale: reaching Bali and reaching the final island destination are separate budgeting decisions.
Short map distances can still require several coordinated handling stages. Suitable local transport and handling availability, cargo dimensions and access at the receiving point affect the plan. These constraints should be checked early rather than treated as a minor add-on after goods arrive.
China to Bali: define every delivery stage
Ask Chindo Cargo to assess the complete journey through our project cargo service. A useful scope identifies:
- Supplier readiness in China: item list, supplier addresses, production completion and collection requirements.
- Packing and consolidation: packed measurements, protective packaging and whether goods from several suppliers need to be grouped.
- International movement and import handling: shipping arrangement, documents, responsibilities and the agreed Indonesian handover point.
- Domestic movement to Bali or another transfer point: where goods become ready for the island leg and who receives them.
- Island transfer and final delivery: exact destination, unloading, equipment, labour and the agreed handover location.
Not every project uses identical stages. Ask the quote to name the actual route and endpoint. “Delivered to Lembongan” should specify whether delivery ends at an agreed receiving point, at the site gate or after unloading at an accessible site location.
Villa materials, furniture and padel equipment
For a villa, the packing list may include furniture, sanitary ware, tiles, lighting, doors or other building materials. Record each item's packed dimensions and gross weight. A catalogue dimension for an unpacked sofa or basin is not sufficient to plan transport.
For a padel court project, supply information about steel sections, glass crates and other components, including the longest package and the heaviest individual package. Ask the supplier and project team to confirm the intended lifting and unloading method. Each padel shipment needs assessment against its actual component list. Transport planning and on-site assembly need separate scopes.
Sequence deliveries with your contractor. Early furniture delivery may create a storage problem; missing a critical structural component may interrupt work. Identify which goods must travel together and which can wait for the site to become ready.
FCL or LCL does not settle the island budget
FCL uses a dedicated container; LCL shares container space with other consignments. Neither label alone establishes how goods will reach an island property. Even an FCL import requires confirmation of the onward handling plan and whether the container or unpacked goods continue through each stage.
Compare alternatives using the same final endpoint, not just the international freight line. Our FCL and LCL guide, in Indonesian explains the terms. For the island estimate, the deciding inputs remain cargo dimensions, weight, access and agreed handling responsibilities.
Send this checklist for a project quotation
- Collection and destination addresses, map pins and the exact island.
- Itemised packing list, package count, packed dimensions and gross weights.
- Photographs of goods and packaging, particularly fragile or oversized pieces.
- Supplier readiness dates and the project's required delivery sequence.
- Site access details, unloading space and receiving contact.
- Requested insurance, storage, lifting, unloading and installation scope.
Request a quotation showing included stages, separately quoted items, assumptions, validity and the agreed delivery endpoint. A preliminary budget should become a cargo-specific quotation before booking.
Frequently asked questions
Does IDR 150 million cover China to Lembongan?
No. It is the starting indication for the listed domestic project-scale route. International shipping and other stages need their own confirmed scope.
Is IDR 260 million the total cost of the goods or villa?
No. It was the combined Denpasar-to-Lembongan domestic delivery cost for one project's aggregate FCL and LCL goods.
Can Chindo Cargo assess a complete China-to-island project?
Yes. Send the full cargo list and destination to request a project assessment. Route feasibility, handling and pricing must be confirmed for your goods.
For another experience-based route guide, see Java-to-Fiji charcoal shipping from US$15,000. That is a separate shipment baseline and is not an island-delivery rate.
